Where Do We Go From Here? A Reproductive Justice Symposium
As part of the Boston Women's Fund 40th anniversary celebrations, we are excited to host a day of learning, awareness building, and rejuvenation as we look at the local and national reproductive justice movements and ask ourselves, “where do we go from here?”
Event Details:
-
Date: Monday, April 22, 2024
-
Time: 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
-
Location: Bruce C. Bolling Municipal Building; 2300 Washington St, Roxbury, MA 02119

Featuring a keynote address and fireside chat from the international Queen Mother of Midwifery, Shafia Monroe, moderated by Nashira Baril of Neighborhood Birth Center, this symposium will address the state of the reproductive justice movement today and shed light on new ways forward. A panel of BWF grantee partners, and event advisors, Birth Equity and Justice MA, Melanin Mass Moms, and Propa City Community Outreach will uplift crucial grassroots perspectives.

In addition, our collaborator The New Commonwealth Racial Equity and Social Justice Fund (NCF) will present a panel, moderated by NCF President Makeeba McCreary, on our collective responsibility to participate in conversations about maternal health and how to engage audiences besides mothers and birthing people in these dialogues.

The day will also make space for relationship building, joy, and a light movement session by Nicole Flynt. Lunch is included with registration, and free childcare is available courtesy of Mamastay.

Together, we can explore the context and challenges we face and find ways to move forward!
