Learn how charitable giving shapes equity for women, girls, and gender-expansive people in Boston — and how we can shift what’s possible. Join us for our free webinar series, "From Insight to Impact," kicking off on May 1!

Charitable giving shapes our city in powerful ways — often in ways we don’t see.

Our recent research report, Carrying the Weight, Leading the Change, shows that in Greater Boston, only a small fraction of charitable dollars reach organizations led by and serving women, girls, and gender-expansive people — and an even smaller share reaches women and girls of color. These patterns aren’t random. They reflect how money moves, who has access, and what we prioritize.

This five-part community learning series invites us to look more closely at those patterns — and at our own role within them.

Each 45-minute session pairs a short, accessible deep dive into Boston Women’s Fund’s latest research with a conversation featuring a local grassroots leader. Together, we’ll explore:

  • How charitable giving shapes equity in Boston

  • Why certain leaders and communities remain under-resourced

  • The hidden toll scarcity takes on grassroots leadership

  • How definitions of “impact” can either include or exclude

  • Practical, doable ways we can align our resources with our values

  • This series is not about shame or perfection. It’s about awareness, alignment, and action.

Whether you are an individual supporter, a board member, a DAF holder, or simply someone who cares about equity in Boston, this space is designed to be welcoming, thoughtful, and grounded in real steps forward.

We don’t need to have all the answers.

But we do have the ability to ask better questions — and make more intentional choices.

Join us as we learn, reflect, and explore what’s possible when we move together.
