The Boston Women’s Fund was excited to elevate its Women of Color Leadership Circle (WOCLC) program by engaging our alumni participants in an opportunity for their continued growth, while having them support the redesign of the program for future participants. Over the course of 4 sessions from January - May 2024, we provided an opportunity for alumni to rekindle connections, share their expertise, support each other's journeys, and enhance their leadership. It was a wonderful journey in bridging the gap between the past and future, creating a strong, thriving network of alumni that will leave an indelible mark on our shared history!
We gathered fifteen alumni from the first three cohorts of the WOCLC program to continue their leadership development, build relationships across cohorts, and contribute to the program’s redesign and creation of a robust alumni engagement plan. Guest speakers — Thabiti Brown of Shadida Solutions, Diana Hwang, Founder and Executive Director of Asian American Women's Political Initiative, and Thaly Germain, Chief Culture Officer of Orchestra — joined our sessions to discuss their own leadership journeys. Alumni walked away with a more expansive support network of women and gender-expansive leaders of color as well as individual learning and development plans to continue their growth.
We are grateful for the incredible facilitation by Liz Najjar, Founder and Executive Director of Shadida Solutions, and Alex Auguste, Deputy Director of BWF! A listing of the fifteen alumni cohort participants is below.
